If you’ve been thinking about getting into Destiny 2, or maybe you’ve been away from the game for a while, now might be a pretty good time to check it out.
Destiny 2: The Collection is currently listed for $20.99 on the Xbox Store, down from $69.99. That’s a 70% discount, saving you $49 on a pretty big collection of Destiny content.
And honestly, that’s not a bad deal for anyone who’s been waiting for a chance to pick up more of the game without paying full price.
So, What Are You Getting?
This isn’t just the basic Destiny 2 experience. The Collection includes a bunch of additional content, including several major expansions and other content packs.
Here’s some of what’s included:
- Forsaken Pack
- Shadowkeep
- Beyond Light
- The Witch Queen
- Lightfall
- The Final Shape
- The Edge of Fate
- Renegades
- Bungie 30th Anniversary Pack
- Additional dungeon and rewards-pass content
That’s a lot of Destiny to dig into, especially if you’re a Guardian who has missed some of the expansions along the way.
Keep in mind that Destiny 2 has changed quite a bit over the years, so new players should take some time to explore the game and figure out where they want to start.
Is $20.99 Worth It?
For me, this is where things get interesting.
Destiny 2 has always had something going for it that keeps people coming back: the gunplay. Bungie has done a great job making weapons feel satisfying to use, and there’s something special about finding that perfect weapon, putting together a build, and heading into battle with your fireteam.
But let’s be real. Destiny 2 can also be a lot to keep up with.
Between the expansions, seasonal content, gear grinding, and everything else going on, jumping into the game can feel overwhelming if you’ve been away for a while.
That’s why I’d recommend taking advantage of the free version first if you’re new to Destiny 2. Give it a shot, see if you enjoy the gameplay, and then decide whether the Collection is worth picking up.
If you’re already a fan and you’ve been waiting to grab some additional content at a lower price, $20.99 is a much easier price to swallow than $69.99.
What About Players Who Left Destiny 2?
I know there are plenty of players out there who have taken a break from Destiny 2. Sometimes you just need something different to play, and there’s nothing wrong with that.
I’ve had my own moments where I’ve needed to step away and play something else. Between the grind and keeping up with everything happening in the game, sometimes you just need a breather.
A sale like this might be enough to get some returning Guardians interested again, especially if there are expansions they haven’t played yet.
Just remember that buying the Collection doesn’t mean you’ll automatically love where the game is today. Go in with realistic expectations, take your time, and enjoy the parts of Destiny that you like.
Where Can You Get the Deal?
You can check the current price and included content directly through the official Xbox Store.

The listed price is $20.99, compared with the regular $69.99 price. Keep in mind that sale prices and availability can change, so check the store before purchasing.
Final Thoughts
Look, I’m not going to tell you that a sale automatically makes Destiny 2 worth playing again. That’s something every Guardian has to decide for themselves.
But if you’ve been curious about the game, or you’re a returning player who’s been waiting for a better price on the additional content, this deal is worth a look.
For $20.99, there’s a lot of Destiny content to explore. Whether you’re chasing new gear, taking on challenging missions, or just looking for another game to sink some hours into, this could be a good opportunity.
So, if Destiny 2 has been sitting on your backlog, maybe it’s time to dust off that Ghost and see what’s waiting for you.
Until next time, Guardians, stay safe out there.
